Life before Frankie...
Me - "Jake I've just booked flights to America"
Jake - "When are we going?"
Me - "In 12 week's"
Jake - "How long are we going for?"
Me - "The whole month of July"
Jake - "Sounds great"
SO that was pretty much our life before parenthood lol! We would just get up and go, whenever we felt like it. Travel was our getaway - Our escape from reality. Escape from Work, People, Bills & Infertility. When I was 21 I discovered a cyst on my right ovary, which lead me to the GP and then to the hospital. Because of the public system and their lack of staff/care, I lost that ovary after sitting in emergency for 4 hour's then being admitted with no further treatment, just bed rest. Haha what a joke! My problems then continued and I was referred to a Gynecology specialist. Then to find out that it was probably a good idea to start IVF. Yep 21!
But I'm not writing tonight to bore you with the "Infertility Story" Long story-short after 5 years, 8 cycles of IVF, approximately 50 days in hospital, tens of thousands of dollars, 4 known miscarriages, one unsuccessful pregnancy with our Surrogate (my sister Shayna) and obviously one SUCCESSFUL pregnancy with Shayna, We finally welcomed our daughter Francesca Louise Morrisby. March 18th 2016
Which also reminds me, you are probably wondering how I came up with FrankieCredence...
Frankie - Short for Francesca <3
Credence - Belief in or acceptance of something as true.
- Belief, Faith, Trust & Confidence ( All the things I needed during the pregnancy)
And just for the record Louise is also Shaynas middle name, a perfect fit if you ask me!
Anywho, where was I?
Travel - In total we have seen the USA (LA, Santa Monica, Vegas, San Diego & Anaheim), Thailand, Fiji and our favorite place in the world so far Vanuatu. We have been 7 time's haha. It truly is beautiful! We plan on taking Francesca sometime soon =). We have also seen a little bit of Australia, Melbourne (AHHHmazing), Cairns/Port Douglas and Darwin. We plan to visit New Zealand next then Japan for Christmas one year.
Travel is purely extraordinary! Seeing all the different cultures and other ways of life. Believe me it makes you appreciate what we have in this beautiful country!
In 2014 Jake and I were advised by our fertility specialist in Brisbane that enough was enough. IVF was taking over our lives, I guess you could say our marriage. That is when he suggested surrogacy was our next option.
To me as a woman that was basically code for you failed.
So what do we do...
Typical Jake and Aimee sell the house, I quit my job and we move to the Gold Coast lol!!!
Distraction? Yes, I guess you could say that. We rented an apartment right in the city, Surfers Paradise. I got a job at Robina Town Center as a Hairdresser. Jake drove back to Toowoomba every couple of weeks check on the job sites.
Life was pretty damn good! After about 5 months we were absolutley in love with our new home town, we had been looking around to buy and had put in an offer on a town house in Broadbeach (but were declined - luckily) and had been to the travel agent, had an itinerary put together. We were going to spend 6 amazing weeks travelling through the top end of America/Canada over to New York. YAY!
We literally got a phone call at 10pm one night the following week from my sister - Shayna.
I had convinced myself so well that motherhood was not an option for me and no one would be a surrogate for us. So naturally when Shayna offered I actually had to sit and really think on it, ask me 5 months prior I would have been a bull at a gate!
One month later we returned to Toowoomba for good...
