Life with Francesca...
First of all thank you to everyone who took the time to send me the most beautiful messages after reading my first blog post last week, your kind words mean alot and i plan to answer your questions in this post!
Second i apologize this blog has also had a delay, ill be honest last week was hell! I honestly did not know that teething would be starting at 10 weeks old! There was seriously one night where Francesca screamed all night...
Literally until 3.45am the next morning! We eventually fell asleep together on the couch in front of the tv. Then, you are not going to believe this! The god damn fire alarm went off at 6.30am (flat battery). Well that was just the cherry on the bloody cake lol. Thank goodness my god mother could come around a couple of hours later so i could take a shower and make an extremely strong coffee...
Last week was a big shock to Jake and I because since we brought Francesca home shes been wonderful! We seriously are so blessed with how amazing she is. She has been sleeping through the night since around 5/6 weeks old (lucky we know) mind you she will have at least 2-3 nights a week where she will be hard to get down, but once shes down and out that's it. Since the teething week she has been fairly clingy and out of routine but we know she has been out of sorts, so like an adult its hard to bounce back right?
People say to me all of the time aww you are so lucky to have a sleeping baby...Am I selfish when i think to myself, well after everything i went through to get her i deserve it lol? But honestly i am less stressed now then i was going through it all.
Yes we have a routine, yes I am a little OCD. I strongly believe its what babies need, they thrive off it and my sister really helped me with the understanding of routine as she had to learn the hard way with her first born. So we thank her for that lol. I'm not a freak about it all though, we still go about our days as normal, i just try to plan things in the morning, Frankie actually routined herself i believe, through the day. I just happened to notice around 12/1pm every day she was falling asleep for at least 2-3 hours at a time. At night time however we stick to a pretty stricked schedual, bath, bottle and bed at 6/7pm depending on when her feeds fall, Frankie is formula fed and only has 4 bottles a day (a 24hr period) so makes it easy for me to detect when to organize things. Not because we think she needs it but we do! However if we are invited out for dinner or make plans we sure as hell forget the routine that night lol...
Someone asked me how we are balancing life now, going from working all of the time and travelling. I have to admit its different, i wouldn't say hard just different. I was super lucky that Jake decided to finally put a team on to build our homes. Jake is actually home alot now, he used to work 7 days a week for 4 months at a time. Hes still on the phone alot and in his office a fair bit, but hes home andt if i need him or i need to quickly duck out i can. After the amount of time we waited for Francesca we thought it would be nice to spend as much time as we could with her in the early days, and we did! We spend alot of time looking for land, discussing finances/business, new ideas and alot of time at tile shops, kitchen shops and BUNNINGS lol. So really you could say our life is the same in that aspect, we just take a little longer to get to these places now lol.
However I am getting the Itch to go back to work soon lol, i mean i love being a mum but im not going to lie, i miss my life before her too. I don't want to go back to work full time but maybe a day or two here and there.
We'll see what happens, right now im just enjoying every single precious moment <3
The main question we get asked is will we do this again? Have another baby...
The answer is no, and i will explain why in my next blog post and talk about the whole surrogacy experience itself.
Thank you xoxo
